Jenny Kissick - Nurse Manager

Hi. I'm a Practice Nurse and the Nurse Manager at SouthCare. Since graduating as a Registered General and Obstetric Nurse in 1981, I have continued nursing, mainly in the community and primary health sector. The last 5 years of which I have worked as a Practice Nurse at Hawera HealthCare.

I especially enjoy Practice Nursing for the varied aspects of healthcare and challenges it offers both in well health and disease management. This together with the opportunity to work with people of all ages and from various "walks of life" makes no two days ever the same. My interest and commitment to primary health nursing has also led me to continue with further studies in this area.

Family and friends are very important to me and this includes Chris my husband. and our 2 adult sons and teenage daughter. I am enjoying working at SouthCare as part of the skilled and dedicated nursing team.

Adele Price

I have been nursing for 15 years, working in a range of areas including hospital and community based work. I have been Practice Nursing for 2 1/2 years now and have found my ideal career - I love it!

I am married with 3 sons and live in Hawera but born in New Plymouth. My eldest son Ethan is 13, Connor is 9 1/2 and Korbyn is 6. My interests include: going for long walks, enjoying time with my family and relaxing with friends.

I love my work, meeting new people and helping those who need it while continually gaining a range of new skills. I hope to stay as a Practice Nurse for many years to come.

Jennifer Sandford

I have been nursing on and off for the past 20 - odd years. I trained in Whangarei as a Registered Comprehensive Nurse, then worked in Middlemore in Auckland for a couple of years working in a variety of settings including a very busy Emergency Department.

After getting married to Phil and doing an OE we moved to Auroa in 1988 and I worked in Hawera Hospital for 3 years in the surgical ward before starting a family. I have been working as a Practice Nurse part time for the past 5 years and I enjoy the variety Practice Nursing offers. I work in both the Manaia and Hawera branches of SouthCare.

Out of work I'm a busy Mum of four children, Thomas (15), Alison (12), Sarah (10 and Hamish (8). I enjoy walking, reading socialising and spending time with my family.

Trish Jordan

I am a qualified Registered Comprehensive Nurse and have been nursing for the past 12 years. I have worked in a variety of areas, including Medical, Surgical and Orthopaedics in Australia, UK and NZ.

I returned to NZ in 1997 and have two beautiful daughters, Nicole (9) and Ella (7). I enjoy walking, gardening, cooking and reading. I love to spend time with my daughters and socialising with friends.

I have been Practice Nursing for the past 5 1/2 years and really enjoy the variety in which Primary Health Care brings. I am proud to be a member of the SouthCare team.

Phillipa MacDonald

I have just completed my first year of Practice Nursing and have really enjoyed the challenge of my new role. I am a Registered Comprehensive Nurse. I started my nursing career at Hawera Hospital in 1990 working in the medical ward and Emergency Department. I was part of the move to the new Hawera Hospital which was an exciting time. From Hawera Hospital I spent three years working at Trinity Home and Hospital, until commencing Practice Nursing with the team here at SouthCare.

I am married to Trent, we have two children - Hamish and Nikita. Working part-time allows me to be involved in my children's school activities and family time.

The whole team together!  awaiting new photograph
